I am reading Max by James Patterson. I am almost finished reading this book, and the most important word would be 'Mom'. Previously in the series, Max (the main character) finally found her mom (she was stolen from her as a baby). In this book, an evil guy named Mr. Chu kidnaps her mom because he wants Max to join him in his project to destroy the world. So throughout this book the Flock( a group of flying kids including Max) are on a journey to go rescue her mom. That is why 'Mom' is the most important word because the whole plot is about Max's mum and the journey to find her.

The book I am reading is The Maze Runner by James Dashner. I think that the most important word in this book so far is eerie on page 55. In this book, Thomas is sent to the Glade with no memories from his past. Thomas is confused with everything. How he got to the Glade, why he is there, who sent him there, what was the reason behind his presence in the Glade, and so on. There are so many unanswered questions from his perspective and so far, the Glade is an eerie place. There's a maze full of Grievers (creatures that kill the Gladers) and so many boys he's not familiar with yet. Basically, his surroundings, and everything else about this book so far is eerie.

I am reading Tigers Destiny by Colleen Houck. I think that the most important word is 'love'. For awhile know, Kelsey has had the luxury of choosing whether she wants to be with Ren or Kishan. That is, until she was captured by the evil sorcerer Lokesh. She is, of course rescued, and the decision she makes flares up into her life again. She loves Ren and Kishan both, and is fearful for all their futures. She still loves Ren the most, and never stopped loving him, even thugh they were apart for awhile, but is afraid Ren will sacrifice himself to any harm that crosses her way, to prove his love to her. So, Kelsey, in order to keep her heart safe chooses to be with Kishan so Ren would stop trying to be a superhero and always trying to save her, because she can not live without him. Many choices and decisions are yet to come for the power of love, and Kelsey and the two tiger princes, Ren and Kishan's fates are to be revealed. That is why 'love' is the best word to represent my book.

The book that I am currently reading is Ninth Grade Slays by Heather Brewer. I think a word that could describe the part of the book that I’ve read so far could be new. I think that new would work because it is a “new” year for Vlad at school and “new” problems that he has to face. There are many things that are “new” this year. Like his amount of friends finally changes, and how he feels about a particular girl. “Cough, cough, Meredith, cough, cough!” So the word new describes the part that I have read so far in Ninth Grade Slays.

The book I am currently reading is Prom by Laurie Halse Anderson. I would probably say that the most important word in the section I am reading now would be "funding". During this time in the book, Natalia, (Ashley's best friend), is scrambling to find a place for the prom to be heald, however many of the people she has contacted so far have not been any help, or just flat out refused to host their school due to their lack of funding. Nonetheless, the ever-optimistic prm commtitee still searches for ways to raise money, and at one point even considers having the prom in the school gym, which most students detest to. In conclusion, the word funding characterizes the section I am reading in Prom by Laurie Halse Anderson well.

Avellis6,
I love that book!! You should also read Eighth Grade Bites, it's really good.

I recently finished the Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. The most important word in the last section of my novel is Tartarus, because that is where, as the 7 questers discover, is where one or more of them is going to have to go to close the Doors of Death from the inside. Tartarus is riddled with monsters that have been killed on earth, but in Tartarus, they are very much alive! Annabeth tricks the spider queen Arachne into a trap and then tips it into Tartarus, only to find she is attached to Arachne's web!SPOILER ALERT! She and Percy are pulled into Tartarus as Percy refuses to let go of Annabeth. Percy and Annabeth will make the arduous jouney through Tartarus while the other 5 questers travel to Greece to close the Doors of Death from the opposite side once Percy and Annabeth arrive there.

OCallen6:I previewed that book during our book preview! IT wounded really good! Tell me how it is!

Oops. Sorry olivia, meant Sounded, not wounded! :)

This week I am reading Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher. The word that I believe to be the most important is why. I believe that this word is the most important word in this section of the book because Hannah Baker, a girl who committed suicide, sent out seven tapes to thirteen individuals who had something to do with her death. These tapes were supposed to explain why Hannah sent those tapes out to those people and why they had caused or had something to do with her death. That is why I think that the word why is the most important word in this section of the book.

I'm currently reading the Maximum Ride by James Patterson.
The word that is important is "desire" I think this word is the most important word in this section because the six children, who had been locked in cages and experimented on, didn't know whether they had parents and who they were. The six children also escaped the school and Angel, the youngest, was captured. These events happened because the six children had desire to find the identity. That is why I believe the desire fits in to this section of the book.

I just recently started the book: CITY OF BONES by Cassandra Claire. This is a very interesting book so far. It involves a girl named Clary who see's a murder in the closet of a night club; but not just any kind of murder. It involved a dark witch and a demon hunter with blue hair! The blue-haired man was charmed into following a pretty woman who was an evil witch, into a dark closet. I think the most important word in this book would have to be: knowing, which is found on page 23 where it says, "she already knows to much." said the dark witch. I thought that this word was important because she is the only human being that can actually see the demon hunter and evil witches. Also, she learns a lot from them and that she can stop the murders and the witches. This is why i think "Knowing" was the most important word of my book: CITY OF BONES by Cassandra Clare.

JChoi6: That sounds a really good book. I hope to read it soon! Great blog by the way, it was very descriptive.

I am reading the Final Diagnosis by Arthur Hailey. The most important word is hospital. This is because everyone's problems revolve around it. Kent O'Donnell is getting money for it's renovation and hiring new people. Lucy Granger is dealing a case on a nineteen year old girl with bone cancer. Vivian, the nineteen year old girl, is trying to cope with the consequences of having bone cancer, and finally, Dr. Pearson is learning to co-operate with his new coworker and trying to catch up on pathology work. Basically, it's the setting and without it the storyline wouldn't exist.

KHouse- I heard that's a really good book, maybe I'll read it.

I am reading The Mark of Athena by Rick Riordan. I think that the most important word in this book so far is Rome. That is where there quest leads them and if they do not get there in time the city will be destroyed by giants and Nico will die as well. If the giants destroy Rome they will be 1 step away from defeating the gods for good.

Book:We Were Heroes
Author: Walter dean Myers

the most important word in this section that i have read is letter. The soldiers could send letters with limited things on them like names and greetings. And the soldiers would get few. So this is applied to why Scott doesn't get allot of letters and sends so few. this was one of the many things Scott looks forward to in Britain and the front lines.

KHouse5: James Patterson is such a good author that's why everyone bought max.

I just finished The Necromancer (The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel) by Michael Scott. The most important word is, in my opinion, trust. Throughout the whole book, one main character named Josh is constantly doubting whether he should trust Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel. In the end, this wavering trust ends up causing a major decision that completely alters the series. I won't say what happened, because it would be a major spoiler.

I am reading Feed by M.T. Anderson and a word that would describe the later section would be chaos because Violet dies and Titus doesn't know what to do so he gets really sad and goes sorts crazy and starts blaming Violet's dad for her riding and gets really mad and they get into a fight.

AMowry5: That sounds like a really cool and action packed book.

I am currently reading The Host by Stephanie Meyer. The most important word is Host because there are alien soles that are captured and put into doctor labs. Then, they take the alien sole and put it into a human body which is considered there Host. When the alien inters the Hosts body, they are somewhat controlling it, but not entirely.
KHouse5: I love that series!!!

Recently in Graceling by Kristin Cashore the most important word has been 'fighting'. This is because the main character Katsa and Prince Po are both Graced. When you are Graced you have two different colored eyes and are really good at something. It can be something that could come in handy or something that barely matters. Kata's Grace is that she is extremely good at killing people and can use every weapon handed to her. Po's Grace is that he is really good at hand to hand combat. Even though Katsa has not trouble beating him in a duel, he at least gives her a little bit of a challenge. During their fighting they begin to get to know one another.

KHouse5: I heard that book is super good! Great post!

Book: The Eternal Ones

Author: Kirsten Miller

Reincarnation is what I believe is the most important word that represents this book. This book is about a girl name Haven Moore who lives in the small town of Snope City. When she was young she had these visions of a past life of when she was a girl named Constance whose lover was named Ethan, but because of these visions her Grandmother and the rest of the town believes she’s possessed by the Devil. So Haven began to stop the visions but once, at age 17, she sees a guy named Iain on a gossip show and faints. This has her reacquiring her visions again of the past life in which she believe the guy called Iain has a connection to. This story revolves around the idea of Reincarnation and the meeting back with the same souls in every life.

KHouse5: That book sounds really good.

I am almost done with Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. The most important word in my section is ‘hoverboard’. A hoverboard is a board that floats above metal; it is magnetic and only needs to be over metal to work. This word is the most important because without hoverboards Tally and David would not be able to save their friends. In Tally’s town, hoverboards is the only way to get around. They live in the future, and hoverboards are new technology. David and Tally want to save their fellow Smokies and to do so they need hoverboards.

The most important word for my book, The Amulet of Samarkand, by Jonathan Shroud, would be the word chaos. One of the main characters, Bartimaeus, who is a djinni, has blown up an antique store, started a fight between two other djinni, and stolen a very powerful item, while blowing up half the place while he’s at it. It seems that Bartimaeus tries not to destroy things, it just sort of happens, and normally, it’s his fault.

J DeVoe6, that’s one of the best series of all time!

I am currently reading Lost on a Mountain In Maine by Donn Fendler as told to Joseph B. Egan. I think the most important word would be happy because at the end of one of my chapters Donn says he is finally happy. Before, he couldn't find food, shelter, or anything he needed to survive in the mountains. However, in the end he finally is happy because he has food and a warm place to sleep. He is still lost, but at least he knows what's going on.

Right now in The Deathly Hallows by JK Rowlings I think the most important word is “knowledge.” It seems that only Dumbledore knows what Voldemort is looking for. The only problem is that Dumbledore is dead. Rumors are going around that Dumbledore was not the man many thought he was, so Harry is facing some internal conflict. He just wants to know the truth. Meanwhile, Harry and his friends are also wondering how to demolish a Horcrux which is a piece of someone’s soul, in this case Voldemort’s. Once they find and kill all the horcruxes there is a chance in triumph against evil.

The book I am currently reading is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. One word to describe this book is the four letter word “burn”. Montag is a firefighter that raids people’s homes, burns their books, and then burns their houses. In the future all houses are fire proof, so only their possessions are lost and the hollow shell of their memories are left behind. Montag’s world is also being “burned” away as his wife commits suicide once again, then is revived by doctors and has no memory of ever committing suicide. Then it’s “burned” even more as a new neighbor changes his views and morals and he slowly changes into a different man. Soon his whole life will be “burned” away, and a new changed one will develop. One life that Montag and his wife are not prepared for.

I finished the book, Spy Glass by Maria V. Snyder, and the most important word is future. In this book, she is looking for her blood lost in the previous book. If it lands in the wrong hands, everything can go wrong for her.She has a boyfriend, but he wants her to settle down when she is going on an almost pointless mission. The man who not only raped and killed her sister for power, but also raped and almost killed her, has lost his thirst for blood magic{a way for a magician to gain power, but by making another give up their soul, it is addictive and there are many levels, and the last is tearing out a beating heart and taking the blood from the chambers, and the smallest is taking a little blood.}, but now loves her. Her future branches in so many ways, but Opal the main character, has to pick which branch to follow, as well as who she wants to take with her.
AaronM5: I LOVE that series, I have read the first two books, but not the third!!!!!!!!!!

I am currently reading the fifth and final book in the Vanished series, Missing You, by Meg Cabot. The most important word in the book so far would have to be ‘love’. The main character Jessica (in the first book she was struck by lightning and got the power to find missing people) after serving in a war to find terrorist she goes back home to Indiana only to find her boyfriend kissing another girl. Braking up with him she moves to New York (having lost her powers from the terror she experienced during the war) to go to college. But one day will sitting bored in her apartment with her best friend and roommate Ruth, her brother, and Ruth’s brother someone comes knocking at the door. Thinking it was the pizza guy she opens it only to find Rob Wilkins, her ex-boyfriend at the door. Seeing him brings up some mixed feelings in her as she tries to figure out if she still ‘loves’ him. But he didn’t come to try and get back together with her. Instead he wants her to use her powers to find his missing little sister.

The book I'm reading is Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer. What I think would be the most important word so far would have to be feelings. Throught the parts of the book I have read so far, Miranda and Alex have conflicting emotions for each other. Neither are sure if they love each other, or whether they just annoy each other.

JChoi6: Everyone says that's a good book, but I haven't gotten around to reading it.

I am currently reading Found by Margaret Peterson Haddix. I am about halfway through the book and I chose the word 'Mysterious' to describe this book. I think it describes the book because the main character keeps receving creepy anonymous notes in the mail. This is mysterious because Jonah has no clue what the notes mean or where they come from. Also, Jonah was adopted and has no idea of his past, which is mysterious as well. Jonah wants to solve the mystery of both of these subjects.

AustinM5- Rick Riordan is one of my favorite authors. Actually I think you told me to start reading his books. I'll have to look at that book soon.

JChoi6- How are you liking that book? Ms.Thomas said it was a great book. I may try and read that soon.

The book I am reading is Insurgent by Veronica Roth. The most important word I feel in the book so far is factionless. Factions in the book are basically the people's path to there future and jobs. The factionless are people that did not pass the criteria or even the physical test and are scattered throughout the poorest places in the society. This group called the factionless are important because they end up helping Tris the main character and Tobias.

@AMowry5:I love those books I've already read the first two!! Can't wait to read the third.

The book I am currently reading is The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. The most important word in the chapters I have read so far, is "family". I think that family is the most impostant word because in the story, Katniss voulenteers as tribute to protect her sister Prim from getting killed in the anuall Hunger Games. She also talks about how her father died, and how she never truly forgave her mother for what she had done. The story also talks about how everyday, she hunts in order to provide food for her family.
JChoi6: I've heard that book is good! Isn't it one of the ones Ms.Tomas recomended for us??

I am reading The Serpents Shadow by Rick Riordan.
The word I would say describes this book, is venturesome. This book is all about adventure and taking risks. In this book, Carter and Sadie have to travel to Dallas, Texas, where they have to learn how to defeat Apophis, the chaos snake, before he swallows the sun. In this book, Carter and Sadie have to go through many different obstacles, in which their lives are at risk, to get where they need.

I have just finished the book The Fire Within by Chris D'Lacey. I think that the most important word in the entire novel (might sound kind of cheesy) is the pronoun "Pennykettle".
Pennykettle is the last name of the tenant David's land lord. They own some of the most majestic looking clay dragons that you can find custom made. They sell them at local art festivals, but only the few made for the family has a spark of fire inside. The Pennykettle last name has been mentioned throughout the entire story, and is even an important name in the book's Dragon Lore.

I have just started Ruby’s Slippers authored by Tricia Rayburn. I think that the most important word in the section of the novel would be “moving”. I think so because the entire section is about Ruby moving from Curly Creek to Coconut Grove to live with her Nana Dottie. Ruby doesn’t want to leave her best friend Gabby.

Warning: Spoiler Alert

Book: The Mark of Athena

Author: Rick Riordan

The word that I would use to describe my book is Rome. Rome pops up in my book a lot. Not only did the descendants of the Roman Empire found Camp Jupiter and New Rome, who became smaller antagonists, but Old Rome was the desired location of the Argo II. Rome also contains Annabeth’s greatest challenge, one she must face alone, finding the Mark of Athena. Rome also comes up alot, when there is talk of old Athenian children fighting the Romans in the Roman conquest for power. In this book, Rome is a very controversial topic. On one hand, they were and are seen as a strong, united, and powerful empire, but other times Rome is seen as a power-hungry, evil, butcher of men, who will not stop at anything in their race for power.

@JChoi6: I like that book, I am only halfway done, because my new book (The Mark of Athena) came out last week.

The book i am currently reading is The Good Thief by Hannah Tinti. So far the best word to describe the book would be 'Parent'. The main character, Ren, is an orphan without a left arm. All Ren's life he had wondered what happened to his parents and how he became a orphan. Then, a man named Benjamin who pretends to know why and that his is his uncle. Benjamin tries to then show Ren the life of a thief, while he is still unsure of himself and past.

BNguyen5, I should read that book in the future, sounds good.

I am currently reading Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. Based on what I have currently read, the best word I could use to describe this section is "love." I would use this word because Mike Evans, a boy who likes Caitlin, grabs her by the arm as she is leaving practice and confesses his love for her but as she tells him to stop and let go Caitlin's boyfriend walks in and yells at Mike and tells her he loves her and won't let her go. This leaves Caitlin to make up her mind and go with her boyfriend, Rogerson. Mike is then left alone but still has deep feeling for her, just like Rogerson.

JChoi6- I heard that was a really good book! Let me know how it turns out!

Title:Alex Cross
By:James Patterson

In my book, so far, the most important word would be decisions because Alex Cross has been faced with many hard decisions. He has been faced with decisions like who to save out of two people, he has had to decide if a case got claimed guilty or not, and many other things. He has also had to make the decision of listening to a serial killer to save his loved ones. Though he does not want to, he has to or else he will lose his loved ones. That is why so far in my book, decisions is the most important word.

JChoi6: The Maze Runner was AMAZING. I Want to read it again.

The book I’m currently reading is Darklight by Lesley Livingston. The most important word is Fairy, or Fey. This is the most important word because Kelley Winslow, the main character, is the daughter of the Winter King and Summer Queen, so that makes her a Fairy. Also, the Fey have taken over Central Park, the gait to the Fey realm, and she has to get them all back through the gate, Central Park, so they don’t kill everyone.
