My book, Into No Man's Land written by Ellen Emerson White, is about a young man named Patrick. He is enlisted in the Marine Core. Currently, the Vietnam war is going on, and Patrick is placed in Golf company, 3rd Battalion, 26th Marines. Surrounded by enemy forces, he doesn't know if he and his battalion will make it home. My favorite war and historical event of all time is the Vietnam war. This book is actually the journal of Patrick Seamus Flaherty. My book's genre is historical fiction because it is based on events that happened during the Vietnam war, but the characters and some events are made up by the author, even though it was written like the journal of a Marine who served in the Vietnam war. My favorite book is Sunrise Over Falluja, written by Walter Dean Myers, because I really like war books. I really like to read about war from 1900 and up. I really don't like to read that much, but I do like to read books about historical wars. I try to read a little bit every day, but it depends on my homework.

The book I'm reading right now is Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson. The book is about a boy who got in trouble for committing the "foul deed" and now he's trying to get his life back in order. Yet he also wants to fit in the "cool" croud, and he is realizing slowly that he likes the most popular girl in school! The genre is fiction. The best book I ever read was The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

My reading habit is I usually read after I finish my homework everyday for anywhere from 30 minutes to a couple hours, depending on how much I like the book.

The book I am currently reading is Twisted by Laurie Halse Anderson. It is about a boy who got in trouble for vandalism and now the most popular girl in school has taken interest in him. I decided to read this book because one of my friends said it was really good so I thought I should give it a try. Twisted is a fiction book. My favorite book is either Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins or Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows by J.K. Rowling. I think they are both really good because they are about someone who need is in a difficult situation and needs to get out of it. Plus neither plot could ever happen to me so it’s cool to read about it. My reading habits change frequently but usually I will read an entire book in one week and then not read anything else until I have to. It is really hard to find a book that I am really interested in. If it isn’t good I put it down and never finish it. I try to read more often and more equaled out.

The book I’m currently reading is The Final Diagnosis by Arthur Haley. I have just started reading it but so far it’s describing a hospital and how all the staff acts. I’m pretty sure the genre is a mystery because my mom said it’s a detective novel. I decided to read it because my mother said that Arthur Haley was a good author and the book should be good. One of my favorite books that I’ve read is The Count of Monte Cristo because it’s really dramatic and somewhat funny. I usually read on weekends, because I don’t have very much time on week days. I also read a lot at lunch.

The book I am currently reading is Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. It is about a young girl named Meggie who must save her father, Mo, from the clutches of Capricorn and his Black Jackets. Capricorn on his goons had been read out of the story Inkheart by Mo while his wife and cats were read into it. It is up to Meggie, Mo, and some other crazy characters to stop Capricorn for good. I decided to read this book because my older brother, who owned it and read it a few years ago, recommended it to me. The genre of this book would have to be considered fantasy because of how people could read characters out of books at will. One of my favorite books I’ve ever read would have to be Vanished by Meg Cabot because of the adventure and comedy that always puts you on the edge of you seat. I’ve always liked to read for an hour every night before bed so that I could finish homework and do some things like draw or watch TV.

The book I am currently reading is Tiger's Curse by Collen Houck. It is about an eighteen year old girl named Kelsey Hayes who gets a job at a circus. Her job is to take care of a white tiger named Dhiren, or Ren, and make sure he is fed and taken care of. Kelsy comes to care for the tiger, and in a rush of events is whisked to India with her beloved tiger. This is where Ren truly reveals himself to Kelsey. he is really a 350 year old Indian prince who was cursed. He asks for Kelsey's help to break the curse and she agrees. Their journey whisks them away to many different places in India. Many secrets are revealed and Kelsey and Ren fall for each other. I decided to read this book because it looked interesting and I love animals, so a tiger on the front cover caught my attention. The genre of the book is fantasy because it involves evil sorcerers, attacking monkeys, goddesses, and cursed tigers. One of my favorite books I've ever read is Nightshade by Andrea Cremer because of the humor, good plot, and romance. But I love many, many other books too. I like to read in the morning and at night before bed and on long car trips. And if my parents work over the weeekend I like to read for an hour or two.

My book is called The Emperor of Nihon-Ja, by John Flanagan. This is the tenth book in a series, so that is how I choose the book. This book is fantasy, because, while it could be realistic, the world is different to ours. One of my favorite books I’ve ever read is called The Enchantress, by Michael Scott. It is a great book because it is the end of a series that is really good, The Secrets of the Immortal Nicholas Flamel. My reading habits are that I read a lot of the time, unless I’ve got homework or I’m playing video games.

I am reading the City of Ashes by Cassandra Clare. It is about a girl named Clary Fray who is a Shadowhunter, or demon killer. There have been kills of Downworlders, hybrids in other words, werewolves and feys (fairies). Clary's best friend or boyfriend (she really is unsure) Simon became a vampire. Her newfound brother, Jace, who she was falling for before she learned they were siblings, is as sarcastic as ever, but after a fiasco at the fey court, something is different. After being bitten by a sprite, the only way Clary could leave the magical land is to recieve the kiss she desired most, not Simon, but Jace. I chose this book after my friend, who has read the entire series, recommended it. It is a fantasy book, my favorite genre. My favorite book ever is Igraine the Brave by Cornelia Funke. IT is about a 12 year old girl named Igraine, whose parents are sorcerers and her brother is training to become one too. But Igraine wants to become a night. But when her parents are turned into pigs and cannot do magic and a hostile neighbor is about to attack to castle to steal their Books of Magic, Igraine is forced not only to be a brave knight, but be a brave friend. I have read this book seven times! I read a lot, usually at least and hour a day, usually more!

I am reding The Maze Runner by James Dashner. This book is about a group of kids who don't remember anything excoet for their first name. They are placed in a place called 'The Glade'. The Glade is surrounded by an impossible who's walls move evry night. But the newest recruit, Thomas, might be the key to getting out. I chose this book from Ms. thomas's library, the back of the book appealed to me, so I took it. The genre is Realistic Fiction. One of the best books I've ever read is the Percy Jackson series, I think that's the best series in the world. I usually put time towards reading on the weekend.

The book I am currently reading is The Last Hope by Erin Hunter. This book is non-fiction. This book is about the classic battle between good vs. evil. The main characters are all cats, but they live their lives with normal human intelligence of people. This book is about all of the characters who are struggling to fight the battle between Starclan (good) and The Dark Forest (evil). Throughout the book, the main characters have to find the final cat to complete the prophecy and vanquish the evil that has forever plagued the Clans (there are 4 clans in which the cats are divided amongst by where they live and their skills). I had started reading this book because (I’m pretty sure) it’s the final book out of the series over 25 books I’ve been reading for some time. My favorite book would have to be Island Girl by Lynda Simmons. I found it was a really good book because it was kind of relatable and it was a pretty funny book. It was also a quick read. I usually try to read at night and on the weekends for as long as I can, but it all depends on what I have to do.

I am currently reading Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment by James Patterson. This book is about 6 people who can fly. They call themselves the flock. They were created by evil scientists at ‘The School’. With the help of one nice scientist they escape the torturous tests of The School. They stay free for a while, hiding from the Erasers, a man-wolf that has a craving for flying humans, but then Angel (one of the Flock) gets captured and the rest go on an adventure to save her from The School. I wanted to read this book because i just read another James Patterson book and i absolutely loved it. This book is a fantasy. Although, my favorite book is A Dog's Purpose by W. Bruce Cameron because it tells a story about a dog's life from their point of view. In this story a dog gets reborn every time he dies, but each life is a lesson for him. I find this book intriguing because it tells about the adventurous lives that a man's best friend has. If I find a great book (like Maximum Ride) I read in any free time that I have (which only ends up being about 30 minutes because of homework and sports).

3.Fantasy

4.The Iron King series because it is Fantasy and very dark. It ties you in with action and amazing characters as well as the story line.

5.I read every day and I read multiple books at a time. I can start one book and then not finish it and start reading another. I am currently reading seven different books. Most of the time I can finish a book in about two days, sometimes maybe four.

The book I am currently reading is The City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. So far Clary had just entered a club with her best friend, Simon, and she sees a kid with electric blue hair, bright green eyes, and a sword, standing in front of her in line. He had somehow convinced the security guard that his menacing sword was just a harmless pool noodle. Clary knew that something strange was going on. I decided to read this book because Faith had read it and said that this was a really good book and that I should read it. The City of Bones' genre is fantasy. And my favorite book of all times has to be the Deathly Hollow by J.K. Rawlings. This is one of my favorite books because there is a lot of suspense and many parts in the book where you would go Gasp! I would also usually read before going to bed and on the weekends.

I just finished the book Uglies, by Scott Westerfield. The book is about a future dystopia where everyone is "ugly" until they have a surgery at age sixteen that makes them "pretty". The main character, Tally, is almost sixteen and can't wait. Then, she meets Shay, who tells her about a place where everyone stays "ugly" and work together to make it better, which is called the Smoke. When Shay runs off to the Smoke without Tally, Special Circumstances forces her to track down her friend. While in the Smoke, Tally learns a horrible secret about the Pretty operation. While in the Smoke, Tally loves it there and doesn't want to leave. However, Special Circumstances finds and captures Tally, Shay, and the other runaways and bring them back. After this is a second book, Pretties, which I just started.

My current book is called Through my Eyes, by the former Gator quarterback, Tim Tebow. It is an autobiography of his life from him being born in the Philippines up until now. I like his writing style and how he explains in the beginning of the book that this is the truth of his life story, not what people make up for publicity. My favorite books are the Eragon Series and the Fablehaven series. I love the Eragon series because the story line is very intense and you never know what is going to happen next. I also really enjoyed the Fablehaven Series because the amount of details that the author, Brandon Mull, puts into his writing is incredible. I read mostly every night, except Saturdays after I have finished my homework.

I am currently reading The Gift by James Patterson. This is the second book in The Witch and Wizard Trilogy. It is about a brother and sister names Whit and Wisty. They have been ordered to be executed for being a witch and a wizard. They have to help the child resistance group to stop the New Order from destroying the world. Throughout the books they are going into jails and saving other kids who are ordered to be executed. A few of my friends had recommended this book for me and I love fiction and fantasy and this series fits that genre perfectly. The genre is a Fantasy novel. My favorite books are the Eragon series because of all the detail and fantasy. I usually read at night before I go to bed if I have time. On the weekends I usually read about an hour and a half a day. I am always reading something because I just love to read.

The book I am currently reading is Into the Wild by Jon Krakaur. This book is mainly about a young man who decides to live in the Alsakan wilderness on a whim, and all of the people he encounters, facts about his family, and other facts the author chose to include. I chose this book because I found the summary very interesting and I had heard about the movie version of this book from other people. Into the Wild is non-fiction due to the fact that it is a true story. One of my favorite books would have to be Speak by Laurie Halse Anderon because I thought it was very well written and I really liked the main charcter's voice in the story. I usually read before I go to bed and on weekends, however sometimes I tend to stop reading a book somewhere in the middle because I think it's boring or for various other reasons. If I really like the book, though, I'll probably read it quickly.

I am currently reading In The Shadows of Lady Jane by Edward Charles. For now, the book is set in England, 1551. The main character, Richard Stocker is in the house in Devon of Lord Henry, his wife, and his three daughters. He fell in love with Lady Katherine but they both realize it isn't possible for them to ever have a love life together due to their huge difference in society. Lady Katherine is high in the society and Richard is only the head horse keeper of the Devon house's stables. I decided to read this book because my mommy told me that it is on the list of required books to read before taking the SAT standardized test. The genre of this book is historical fiction. One of my favorite booksis The Hunger Games because it is a dystopian world showing me that my life isn't as bad as The Hunger Games character's lives and it is violent but with the perfect touch of romance. But my reading habits fluctuate alot. I only read non-stop when it's a book I really enjoy. But when it's a boring book, I read like one chapter a day.

1.) My book is about how Laurel, Chelsea,David, and Tamani are trying to save Avalon from a rogue Winter fairy and her "mentor". But along the way, Laurel has to decide who is the one that she truly loves: David or Tamani? The human, or her own kind: a fairy?

2.) I decided to read the book because it is the fourth book in the series, and all of the other three were REALLY good!

3.) Genre: Fantasy

4.) One of my favorite book is the Kissed By An Angel series, by Elizabeth Chandler. This series is SO good! My favorite type of genre's are romance novels, and this series definetly has LOTS of it! Plus, I like tragic-romance books, and this romance novel definitly has a LOT of tragedy in it.

5.) I usualy read everyday before I go to bed at night for 1,2,3 hours if I have enough time. The better the book, the longer and more I will want to read. If I don't have very much homework, and I have a really good book that I'm reading, then I will want to read it every chance that I can!

I am currently reading the book, Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houk. The Book is about a seventeen year old girl named Kelsey. Kelsey was looking for jobs and finally found a suitable job, a circus assistant. In her current job, Kelsey would help out with setting up for shows, selling tickets, and cleaning up after the show. Also, she would have to help Mr. Davis, the animal trainer help walk and feed the animals. When Kelsey was watching the circus show, she noticed this white tiger that appealed to her. While asking Mr. Davis about the tiger, Kelsey learned that the tiger is a white Indian male tiger named Dhiren. After knowing what she wanted about the tiger, Kelsey would sometimes sit down and talk to Dhiren. Kelsey would have what she called a "conversation" with Dhiren, who she called Ren. Kelsey would read poems to him, short stories, and stuff like that. But I chose this book by simply browsing the books in the public library after I found out they did not have the book I originally wanted. This book appealed to me once I read the short summary and a couple pages into the book. The genre of the book is fantasy. One of my favorite books that I read when I was younger was the Percy Jackson series. I was always intrested in Greek Mythology and the Greek Gods, which made me intrested in the Percy Jackson series. My daily reading habits are reading about an hour before I go to bed each night, and occasionally when I get bored durring the day.

My book is about a kid whose dad is a murderer. He has to live in fear and not knowing what to do. I chose this book because it sounded interesting because the main character, Cameron, has to try and lead a new life by using his wits and the memory of his father. It is realistic fiction. My favorite book is The Rookie by Jim Morris because it shows that anything is possible. My reading habits aren't that good, I don't really like to read that much when I don't have to.

After the arrival, Ruth and the main character couldn't see each other. I chosen to read this book because this could be a good source about my NHD project and this book looked interested when I saw in Ms.Thomas' class. This book is a historical fiction and my favorite book is Harry Potter series. I like this book because Harry Potter series introduced the new fantasy world with tons of amazing magical creatures and spells. Finally, my reading habit is that I try to understand the main character's action and their feelings about his or her conflicts.

The book I am currently reading is Uglies by Scott Westerfeld. So far it is about a young girl named Tally Youngblood. Her best friend, Peris, has currently turned 16 and when you turn 16 you become a so called "pretty." As a pretty your entire image changes into a more attractive one and you leave your old town and move to "New Pretty Town." Tally, who will be turning 16 in 3 months, misses her best friend dearly and is willing to take the risky path to go see him no matter what. So as she steps out into the street of "New Pretty Town" she hides her face behind a mask that has the face of a pig, afraid of what might happen. I decided to read this book because I was told by many friends that it was a good pick and was very interesting and that I would enjoy it. The genre of Uglies is science fiction. My favorite book of all time would have to be Hunger Games: Catching Fire. This is definitely one of my favorites because it has an interesting plot and when I read books like this I just can’t put them down. I usually read 30 minutes a night before going to bed. It usually depends on how interested I am in the book but if it’s really good I read it constantly. I have started reading more frequently now and getting back on track.

I am currently reading Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. This book is about a girl named Caitlen O'Koren. She has an 18 year old sister named Cass who has gone missing and her mother doesn't know what to do. Furthermore, Caitlen falls in love with this boy named Rogerson Biscoe. She falls into a dreamland where nothing is real. It seems like she will be getting into trouble with her dreamland because this is reality. I chose to read this book because when I read the summary on the back, it seemed very mysterious and compelling. So I thought I would start to read it. The genre of this book is fiction. One of my favorite books I have ever read would have to be Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. This is my favorite book because it was definitely action-packed. It had a little bit of romance and pretty much everything. It has many descriptive words and details. I could read them over and over again. Catching Fire was very surprising and I just loved never wanting to put the book down. I usually try read for about 30 to 45 minutes each night. I really do like to read. However if the book isn't very fascinating it will take me a little longer to finish; compared to if I was reading an engaging book that I couldn't put down.

J DeVoe6-

The book Uglies seems like an interesting book, but you seem a little unsure of the genre of the book. From your brief description, It seems like the book is more of a Realistic Fiction Novel. Overall, Your book seems very interesting and I might red it myself one day.

The title of the book that I am currently reading is The Runaway Princess authored by Kate Coombs. This book is about a king that has announced a contest and as a prize he is giving his daughters hand in marriage. The prince that can rid the kingdom of evil will win. Fifteen-year-old Princess Margaret firmly objects to her parents’ giving her away. Instead he tries to win the contest herself. Honestly the reason I chose this book is because I didn’t know what to read. So I just picked up a book from my bookshelf and started reading it. The genre of the book is fantasy. My favorite book is Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins. I enjoyed Catching Fire so much because it had a lot of action in it. If a book doesn’t have something to keep me interested I probably won't finish it. My reading habits usually depend on the book. If it is interesting I could knock it out in about a week. Normally I'm not the biggest reader. Usually I read when I don’t have anything better to do or if I have to.

The book I am reading is Uglies by Scot Westerfeld. Uglies is about Tally who is an Ugly and she is counting down the days to be a Pretty where she will be in an operation to become just that, pretty. But Tally’s new fiend Shay isn’t exactly sure if she wants to be pretty and runs away. Tally isn’t sure if she should find her friend or finally turn pretty. I wanted to read this book because it was about a dystopia and it intrigues me. This book is science fiction. I usually read everyday afterschool.

JDevoe6: That book seems really interesting.

REmmons: That book sounds really good.

Book: Romeo and Juliet

Author: William Shakespeare

There are these two families the Montague and the Capulet, these families have been fighting with each other for so long that they don’t even remember why the fighting started in the first place. It got to the point where the citizens of Verona started taking sides. In the beginning Romeo is mourning over the fact he can’t have the hand of Rosaline whom he claims was the love of his life. His friends try to cheer him up by deciding to crash the ball the Capulet are hosting. While, getting ready for the ball, Juliet is told that a man called Paris is asking for her hand in marriage.

I decided to read this “play” because I was beginning to become interested in the works of Shakespeare and why not start with Romeo and Juliet. I believe the genre to be a romantic tragedy. One of my favorite books I’ve read is Battle Royale because it had a lot of violence with a good balance of romance, violence, and more violence as well as having an intriguing plot. My reading habits are quite random: if I’m reading a good book I would stay in bed all day trying to finish it, usually I’d read whenever I feel like it, and sometimes I’d read if a I can’t go to sleep.

KHopkins5: That sounds like an interesting book!

My book is called Twisted and it is by Laurie Halse Anderson. Twisted is a novel that revolves around Tyler Miller. After being a nobody forever, Tyler decides he wants to change. To do this Tyler commits the ‘Foul Deed’ he is forced to do community service his entire summer and becomes Tyler the Amazing Hulk. The next school year he become popular beyond his wildest dreams in addition to getting the girl he has a MAJOR crush on…Until everything goes wrong. I chose this book while previewing books in Ms. Thomas’ class. I would say this book falls under the category of Realistic Fiction. To be honest, this is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time, so I’d say this is currently the best, at a tie with the Hunger Games. I like these books, because they have that indescribable quality that makes you refuse to put them down. To give perspective, I read each of these books in one day each. I love to read!!!
