The book I am currently reading is Dead and Gone by Susan Beth Pfeffer Susan Beth Pfeffer. The main character is Alex, a teenage boy living in New York at the time of a terrible point of chaos and destruction (yes, this is the sequel to Life As We Knew It). He currently lives alone with his two sisters while his parents are away in Mexico. Seeing as they never return, Alex is left to provide for his sisters in the harsh enviroment. The one place Alex would want to go is California. In the book he talks about how he's always wanted to visit there for the beaches and sun.

I am currently reading Maximum Ride: Max by James Patterson. The main character is Max (short for Maximum Ride). She is the leader of the Flock, who are a group of 6 kids who have wings. Max always likes to get her way and she does what she thinks is best to keep the flock safe and happy.
Max would love to go Florida. I chose Florida because, previously in the series, James Patterson put Max and the Flock in Antarctica and she hated the coldness there and she wanted to be in someplace warm like Florida. Although, Max doesn't like staying in one place for to long because she knows that someone will find out where they are and try to kill her.(Because there are a group of evil scientists who put the wings onto the Flock and now they want to kill the flock because they escaped from the lab). Therefore, she would probably hang out around the south and south-west part of the United States.

I am currently reading the book, Tigers Destiny by Colleen Houck. Kelsey Hayes is a kind, compassionate, twenty year old girl. She first met Ren and Mr. Kadam at a circus and was first introduced into a new world of the tigers curse with the goddess, Durga, and seeking out four gifts to help Ren and his brother Kishan become mortal again. So far they have recovered three of four gifts and are on their way to get the Rope of Fire. Since Durga's quest has led them to one spot in India and all over a city in India, and Orgeon and China, I think if Kelsey could go anywhere in the world it would be other places in India. She has only been to one main major city in India and she is curious about Indian lifestyles and culture. She has even asked Mr. Kadam whether they could come back to other Indian cities after they broke the curse. So yes, I think if Kelsey could go anywhere she wanted it would be more places all over India.

KHouse5: Your book sounds interesting. I'll have to read it when I don't have so much homework.

I am almost done with Battle Royale by Koushun Takami. One of the main characters is Shuya Nanahara, an orphan teenager whose class was chosen to participate in The Program, a game made by the government for one class to fight to the death leaving one person, becoming the winner with the award of being able to live and a card autographed by the Great Dictator. I believe that if Shuya could go anywhere in the world, it would be his orphanage back in Shiroiwa to be at peace once again not having to deal with the raucus of having to kill his classmates in order to survive. I think he'd want to go back to his orphanage because his "caregiver/watchover person" was always so sweet to him and given the fact that he has to kill people, the only thing he really wants is somewhere where he feels safe and is not pressured to kill anyone.

ABerryman5: It seems like all the books you read even from last year are always interesting.

I'm almost done with the Final Diagnosis by Aurthur Hailey. This book has many main characters. It jumps from one persons point of view to the next. One of the main character is Kent O'Donnell, the Chief Surgeon at Three Counties Hospital, a small hospital in Burlington. He is being put under a lot of stress because he is in charge of the hospital. The hospital is very out of date and he is working to get the money to modernize it and make it bigger. This is cutting lots of the staffs pay. He also has to get new staff members. I think that Dr. O'Donnell would probably want to go to a tropical island, such as the Bahama's because he needs a serene, calming place that would let him forget about all his stressing work.

I am reading the book Inkheart by Cornelia Funke. The main character Meggie is an energetic young girl of the age of twelve who loves to read. Her father, Mo, is like a book “doctor”. He goes to many libraries and gets his hands on lots of books, so that’s why Meggie likes to read so much. Although in the beginning of the book she isn’t all that brave when separated from her father but as time passes she gains more courage.
If the main character Meggie could go anywhere in the world it would have to be a place a place with a ton of books. The U.S. Library of Congress would most likely be the place she would want to go because of all the thousand of books she could read. It would be like heaven to her.

Daniel X: Alien Hunter By:James Patterson

In my book Daniel X: Alien Hunter, Daniel X is the main character. If i had to say what place my character would want to go in the whole world, I would say hawaii. I say this because in my book, Daniel X says that he has always wanted to go to Hawaii because he said that he has heard many cool things about it and because he has always wanted to learn how to surf. That is why I think that if i had to pick one place Daniel X would want to go most in the entire world, It would be Hawaii.
JChoi6, Sounds like a good book. But you cant judge a book by its cover or title.

KNotestein5, That book looks like it would be cool. I also like that song.

Low Pressure
Sandra Brown

The main character, Ballamy Price, is in total torment. Her sister was killed on Memorial Day in Manhattan by a lightning storm when Bellamy was only twelve, and two years later she is still constantly thinking about her. I think if Bellamy could be anywhere in the world she would be in Manhatten when she was eleven years old with her older sister Susan. I think the book is filled with tons of emotions which are kind of annoying but it does make you feel sorry for Bellamy.

JChoi6: Oh i remember back in seventh grade Dominiks report in Mrs. Cheshire's class on that book, it seemed really good like
Hunger Games.

KHouse5: That Maximun Ride series seems really cool with all of their abilities. I think my brother read that book for school once.

I'm now reading "The Stranger" by Albert Camus.
The main character was indifferent, who didn't care anything. He hated girls and he never cried in his mother's funeral. He didn't care people getting injured. One day, he killed a man for his defense, but he got arrested. He ultimately get a death penalty for not being a human being insted of killing a person. Before the death penalty, he realized that he was being mean to people and missed his mom at the ending.
If he had a choice to go to another world, he would go to heaven because he understood what he did wrong and he wanted to get forgive by his mother.

My book is The Soldiers of Halla, by D.J. MacHale. In the book, the main character is a guy named Bobby Pendragon, and he’s special because he is a Traveler. What that means is that, in the books, there are places called territories, and there are ten of them in all. Three of them are on Earth, but one is in the past, one in the present, and one in the future. The other seven are places that are varying in technological ages; some are more advanced than Earth, while others are less advanced that Earth. Out of all the territories, I think Bobby would choose to go to Second Earth, the present day Earth, which was his home, but after he became a Traveler, he did not really have a permanent home. He would return to Second Earth because it was were all of his friends and family were.

KHouse, I've heard that the Maximum Ride books were pretty good. And I think anyone in their right mind would choose Florida as their favorite place to go!

SHutto6, that is a really good book.

The book I am currently reading is,"Beautiful Darkness by Kami Garcia, and Margaret Stohl. Main character, Ethan Wate, is a lovestruck high school boy. The only problem is that he is in love with, and going out with a Caster girl. They both live in Gatlin, South Carolina. Ethan hates Gatlin, and so does his girlfriend, Lena. They would probably go anywhere in the world that wasn't Gatlin. But if they were to go somewhere, they'd go to Florida. They both like a warm climate, and Lena; when upset, irritated, or mad, causes high winds, and lots of rain since she is a Natural(a type of Caster). In Florida, they experience hurricane's, so if she used her powers, it wouldn't be too unnatural.

9th Grade Slays by Heather Brewer

Vladimir Tod is a teenage Vampire, however he is not a normal vamp ever the vampire, well if you think that being a vampire is normal. Anyway he was not made, he was given birth to by a human, but the father was a vampire. His parents both are dead and he lives with his Aunt Nelly and his drudge Henry. A drudge is generally a human who was bit by a vampire and has to do what the vampire wants. Vlad drinks loots of blood, he drinks the extra blood from the hostpital. His Aunt gets the blood from storage for him to eat. Vlad refuses to feed off of humans. Vlad is storng willed and just so happens to be the target for two bullies since first grade.

I think that if Vlad could go any where it would go to London. I think he would go there to be with his uncle Otis. His uncle is a vampire, but unlike Vlad he was made. But his uncle knows so much about being a vampire and whants so much to help Vlad understand what he needs to know and how to be safe. Vlad is very attatched to him and would give anything to see him again.

This week I am reading City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. The main character in this book is Clarissa Fray but most people just call her Clary. She is a sixteen year old girl who originally lived with her mom in an apartment in Manhatten and her best friend was Simon. But recently her mom had disappeared and she found out that her mom was a Shadowhunter who was married to Valentine, a Shadowhunter who revolted agaisnt the Clave, but then moved to the mortal world to attempt to shield Clary from the dangerous world of Shadowhunters and demons. If Clary could go anywhere in the world, she would probably go to the countryside. The reason I think that Clary would like to go to the countryside because not much action happens in the countryside and it is very peaceful and quiet as opposed to the chaotic world of fighting demons, vampires, werewolves, etc. and in the book, Clary did not seem like she wanted to be involved in all of the Shadowhunter business, she seemed like she only wanted to get away from all of the confusion.

Book: Romeo and Juliet

Author: William Shakespeare

Juliet is thirteen years old and part of the Capulet family. Juliet is engage to a character named Paris, who she doesn’t fancy. She falls in love with character Romeo. Romeo is around sixteen years old and is part of the Montague family. In the beginning of the play he is deeply in love with a girl named Rosaline, but after setting eyes on Juliet he falls for her. But his and Juliet’s family have been feuding for a as long as anyone could remember, making their love “forbidden”. If they could go anywhere in the world I believe they would anywhere as long as they can be together since (*spoiler* but not really) in the end they both kill themselves thinking the other wasn’t alive anymore.

But when Violet starts losing her memory and could die at any moment things change. If Titus could go anyhwere in the world he would probaly want to go to Yellowstone National Park because in his time there are no more trees or anything and he wants to see them.

I am currently reading Found by Margaret Peterson Haddix. The main characters of this book are: Jonah and Chip. Jonah is an adopted boy, now apart of the Skidmore's. He likes to play basketball and has a younger, sister that is blood-related to the family named katherine. Chip is also an adopted child which he founds out in the book later on. He is apart of the Winston family. I think that they would most like to go to a pro basketball game because basketball is their favorite sport.

The book I am currently reading is Into the Wild by Jon Krakauer, and the main character in this book is a young man named Christopher McCandless, (or Alex as he would often call himself), who trekked across the United States living homeless in order to eventually reach the wilderness of Alaska and live there for several months without any transportation, human contact, technology, and little food. Because throughout the book it describes much of the states he passes through, (and he passed through a lot of states),I end up thinking to myself, "Well, where wouldn't he want to live?", although if I had to guess I would say he would've wanted to live in the Alaskan wilderness without meeting his untimely death while there. I say this because, despite his confidence and hope and knowledge of the outdoors, McCandless did eventually die a few months after he entered the Alaskan wilderness from starvation which was part of what made the story so sad.

Book: The Maze Runner

Author: James Dashner

My main character’s name is Thomas. He doesn't know his age, but he thinks that he is 16. One big thing about Thomas is that he knows nothing about himself except his name. If he could go anywhere, Thomas would go anywhere but the Glen, the place he is in. He would probably want to go to his house, though. Not a lot is known about the Glen, from where I am now, but considering that he was kidnapped and forcibly takes to the Glen, it probably not an ideal vacation spot.

@JChoi: That book is great! I liked it a lot. Where are you in it? I hope you like it.

I am reading The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett. The main character's name is Mary and she is now an orphan because he parents died. I am currently reading The Runaway Princess authored by Kate Coombs. The main character in my book is Princess Meg. She would just like to be normal and leave the castle for once.

I am reading the Clockwork Angel by Cassandra Clare. The main character is Tessa Gray. After her aunt dies, she moves to London from New York to be with her brother. But instead she meets two ladies who swear that they were sent by her brother. Instead, they kidnap her and force her to reveal and use the special talent of shape-changing that she didn't know she had. At the beginning of the book, I would say Tessa would want to go back home to New York with her brother and live a normal life. But towards the end of the book, Tessa excepts her role as part of the magical world and as a downworlder, though she doesn't know what kind. I would say at this time, she would want to stay in London with her new Shadowhunter friends because she has no where else to go.

JChoi6:OMG! I really want to read that book! It sounds really good, like the Hunger Games.

So my character is Scott Pendleton Collins and he is a 18 year old boy Who was sent with his friend Bobby Joe to Normandy, France, Omaha beach. He was drafted in the U.S. military and has a family and a girlfriend at home. I think that he would want to go to Paris. It said through out the book that he wanted to go to paris but he never made it. because he was shipped out before that. the only reason he wanted to go to paris is because of the girls and the fact that bobby Joe wants to go.

KNoestein5: that's kind of like why my character wants to go to paris.

I am still reading City of Bones by Cassandra Clare. The main character is Clary, a half average teenage girl. Her mother has been kidnapped by her past husband, who is supposed to be dead, and her best friend Simon now hates her guts. I think if Clary could go anywhere in the world she would escape to a farm in Kansas. She keeps saying she hates all the action and just wants a calm, normal life. First of all Kansas is in the middle of nowhere, and second farms are peaceful with not much going on. If it was possible Clary would probably go back in time to her peaceful, boring life. Clary is a very confusing person and doesn’t make sense a lot of the time. She could definitely use a trip to a peaceful farm, where she could collect herself.

My book is The Maze Runner by James Dashner. The main character in this book is Thomas; him and a bunch of other kids have had their memories wiped and been in a place called the Glade. If Thomas could go anywhere, it would be anywhere but where he is now. All of the gladers' only wish is to escape, but it is very difficult. There is an unsolvable maze that surrounds the Glade and its walls move every night. In the maze are Grievers, part animal, part machine killers that give the children horrible memories and nightmares when they sting them. Everyone in the Glade suffers, so the only place they want to be is at home.

I am currently reading Dreamland by Sarah Dessen. The main character, Caitlen is a very shy person. She doesn't like to have the spotlight on her. She has a sister named Cass who did all school clubs and activities. Caitlen just doesn't like to be put out in the open. She likes to keep herself hidden instead.
Caitlen would probably love to travel to New York because that is where her sister ran away to. I think she would give anything to see her sister again. Caitlen could tell Cass everything and she wants to be able to communicate with her about the troubles in her social life.

Book: Inheritance
Author: Christopher Paolini

Eragon is the main character in the last book of the Eragon series. Right now, I think that Eragon would like to be as far away from Algaesia as possible becuase he is about to face off Algaesia's worst enemy: Galbotrix.Galbotrix is one of the evilest magicians in all of Algaesia's history, and has been around for most of it. The reason I would put Eragon as far away from Algaesia as possible is because Eragon needs to have some peace in his life, where he can just concentrate on him, his studies, and Saphira because he has had to deal so much with the weight of the world on his shoulders all the time.

The Book I am reading is the Serpent's Shadow by Rick Riordan. There are two main characters in this book, Carter and Sadie Kane. Both Carter and Sadie are young Egyptian magicians. And since Carter and Sadie learned how to follow the path of the Ancient Egyptian gods, they played a more important role in Egyptian magic.
I just started this book, so I'm not sure as to where Carter and Sadie would go in the world. But from reading the past two books, I would think that they would much rather be home than having to go out on dangerous missions. Since Carter and Sadie don't live together, Carter would generally be traveling around with his dad, Julius Kane. Sadie would much rather be in london with her grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. Faust.

I am currently reading the book Found by Margaret Peterson Haddox. The main character's name is Jonah and he has known forever that he was adopted. Jonah is not shy, but isn't considered popular either. He has a younger sister named Katie and they act as though Jonah was never adopted. His hobbies are playing basketball and video games. Jonah recieves a note that says: "You are one of the missing."
If Jonah could go anywhere in the world, I think he would go to somewhere relaxing. So, I think Jonah would want to visit the Bahamas because he would be able to get his mind off the weird notes he has been receiving. It would be a way for him to just get away from his typical life and stop letting the notes get to his head.

The book I am currently reading is 1984 by George Orwell. In this book, the main character is a 39 year old man named Winston. Winston lives in a future utopia called Oceania, whose government focuses on the containment and use of all knowledge. Oceania’s government has thought police (people who make sure the citizens of Oceania do not scheme or even think about rebellious actions), a language that restricts the amount a person is thinking, and one slogan: war is peace, freedom is slavery, and ignorance is strength. The government is divided into the ministry of truth, ministry of peace, ministry of love, and the ministry of plenty who alter all history and literature books so that they have control over what citizens know or at least what the citizens think they do. If Winston could go anywhere, he would go home. Winston enjoys his job, but hates the fact that he is constantly watched by the government and would rather break the rules and write rebellious ideas in his diary. Winston suffers from varicose veins, aching joints and bones, a faulty memory, not to mention a wife he barely sees and can’t get rid of. Home is the only place where he can have time the time to think, even though the government watches him through a telescreen inside his house.

I am currently reading The Fellowship of the Ring by J.R.R. Tolkein. The main character is named Frodo Baggins. He is the holder of the One Ring. His mission is to destroy it by burning it in the Cracks of Doom, or the Fire-mountain, before it gets into the hands of Sauron, the Dark Lord. The journey from the edge of the Shire to the Fire-mountain is long and very dangerous. There are many obstacles, including Dark Riders who work for the Dark Lord and follow Frodo to try to get get the Ring from him. He and his friends are sacrificing their lives to destroy the Ring.
The one place where Frodo would like to go is definitely the Cracks of Doom so the world wouldn't be taken over by Sauron.
